Craigio Hopson is the kind of artist who doesn’t like talking about what kind of artist he is. Why talk about it when you can live & breathe it? That’s what he & his work say, which is why we’ve been following both for some time. His colorful, humorous illustrations & paintings never take themselves too seriously, a quality we recognize in him & ourselves.
So one day, we reached out to see if a collaboration might be in order. Before we knew it, he was calling us “matey” & giving us fun faces & other illustrations to put on our t-shirts.
Originally from the United Kingdom & now residing in Bangkok, Thailand, Craigio actually takes a lot of his inspiration from the folk art of America & Mexico, where he goes to fill his rucksacks with stacks of art to bring home. You can really see those influences in his work, which is full of colorful, cartoon-style depictions of humans & other creatures existing in a wacky, surrealist world that we love being a part of.
